The proposal for the annex that will establish the connection between the Alvar Aalto Museum and the Museum of Central Finland is based, firstly from the careful consideration to the context in which will be inserted.
The presence of the two buildings suggests the insertion of a project that does not conflict, but that integrates the actual scenery.
It is adopted architectural principles that generate flexibility of the new spaces, increasing the possibilities for immediate use and extending its useful lifespan in the future. The versatility and superposition of uses, optimizes the proposed spaces through the staggered integration between levels of the store and storage.
The choice of industrialized structural and building systems reduce the environmental impacts as well as allowing faster execution and increased durability while minimizing maintenance costs.
The proposal seeks to qualify the internal spaces for different uses, reinforcing its public character, establishing a continuity of fluxes between existing museums but also with the urban space and natural landscape.
Materials and Structure
The interaction between materials and internal spaces and industrialized building components promote a rationalizedand simple assembly.
